Fly-In Fishing

Arriving at our fly-in lodge is not only quick and easy but convenient. You will not pay hundreds of dollars more and spend hours driving and flying into Ontario in order to arrive at your fishing destination. Many of our guests that live in states as far away as California and Florida are fishing with us the very day they depart from home. This is made possible since Delta Airlines services International Falls on a daily basis. From International Falls, you are only a 15-minute drive to the local flying service in Fort Frances, Ontario that will carry you the short, 25-minute flight to our lodge. We are remote, yet close. Why spend several hours extra driving into Ontario followed by a lengthy flight to arrive at your destination?

The exclusivity and exquisite amenities of our lodge allow you to relax in the at-home setting with no guests present in addition to your group. This allows you the comfort of being among the people you know and allows us the opportunity to focus on creating a successful vacation for your group alone.
With exceptional populations of walleye, lake trout, smallmouth bass, and northern pike, Otukamamoan Lake rivals the very best fishing lakes in northwestern Ontario both for quantity and quality. Bob and Brett are expert guides with unsurpassed knowledge of the lake, its structures, and fishing patterns.

Our History

Bob Lessard has owned and operated fishing lodges for over 60 years ranging from International Falls, Minnesota and Fort Frances, Ontario, to Great Bear Lake in Canada’s Northwest Territories.
A 26-year veteran of the Minnesota State Senate, Bob has been recognized for his passion and tireless efforts championing the rights of hunters, anglers and outdoor lovers everywhere. Authoring the first constitutional right to hunt and fish in the nation, and help lead and pass landmark legislation to constitutionally fund our natural resources and many other outdoor issues during his tenure has made him a prominent figure widely known in the outdoor community.
First fishing Trout Lake in 1948, no one knows the lake better than Bob and his son, Brett, who can guide you to the best spots the lake has to offer for fantastic walleye, lake trout, smallmouth bass, and northern fishing. Trout Lake is the largest lake in the area next to Rainy Lake with many miles of shoreline surrounding abundant structures. Fed by two rivers ending with waterfalls and rapids, you are sure to enjoy the tranquil beauty of the lake with its seemingly endless peninsulas, bays, and coves.
